Protect Your Water Well

Imagine buying a car and never servicing it. No fluid changes, no engine repairs—nothing. As with anything else mechanical, your water well needs to be monitored, inspected, adjusted and repaired on a regular basis.

When you encounter any issues with your home’s water well system, Blue Ridge Waterworks knows how to expertly maintain and repair your system using state-of-the-art equipment designed with safety and efficiency in mind. As a small family business that’s worked in the well and plumbing industries for over 16 years, we take great pride in the quality of our work.

To lessen the chances that you’ll have an issue with your well water, these tips will help you out.

Keep the area around the wellhead clean and free of debris. It should slope away from the well to minimize the likelihood that dirt and other contaminants will enter it via runoffs of rain.

There should be at least 100 feet between the well and contamination sources such as septic tanks and pet enclosures, with the latter two being downhill from the well. Maintain at least 50 feet between the well hole and kids’ outdoor play areas.

Well pumps are frequently installed underground to protect them from outside elements, so seal the well hole securely. If the pump is above the ground, ask Blue Ridge about the best way to protect it from the cold.

Blue Ridge Water Works specializes in water wells, so we are highly experienced in the most expedient and expert ways to handle your well needs.
